Overview
- A pit bull terrier named Faroe was found standing in a drainpipe on the South Branch near the Harrison Street Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
- Owner Brandon Hilliard had been searching since the dog ran off that morning and learned of the response via a community public-safety app.
- The CPD Marine Unit contacted Hilliard, who boarded a police boat en route to the scene to assist during the retrieval.
- A Marine Unit diver entered the water and used one of Faroe’s squeaky toys to calm her before guiding her safely out of the pipe.
- Police reported no injuries, and Hilliard thanked the boater, his sister, and CPD for helping reunite him with his rescue dog.
