Cowboys Schedule La’el Collins Workout After Offensive Line Injuries

The Cowboys will test the veteran former starter in Oxnard to determine if he can add immediate depth to a depleted line.

La'el Collins #71 of the Dallas Cowboys drops back to pass block during a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars at AT&T Stadium on October 14, 2018 in Arlington, Texas. The Cowboys defeated the Jaguars 40-7

Overview

  • The workout is set for Friday in Oxnard as Dallas readies for its Aug. 9 preseason opener against the Rams.
  • Tyler Guyton (knee), Rob Jones (neck), Matt Waletzko (ankle) and Hakeem Adeniji (concussion) have all been sidelined in training camp.
  • Collins went unsigned for the 2024 season after being released by Buffalo and has not played a regular-season game since 2022.
  • During three previous Cowboys stints, he started 71 of 74 games and joined the practice squad late in 2023.
  • Quarterback Dak Prescott praised Collins’s conditioning and said he hopes the veteran lineman "kills this workout."
