Cowboys Eye Notre Dame TE Mayer in 2023 Draft

The Dallas Cowboys have seven picks in the 2023 NFL draft and multiple experts predict they will select Notre Dame tight end Michael Mayer with their first pick.
The tight end position is a top need for the Cowboys after Dalton Schultz left in free agency.
In a full seven-round mock draft, one expert has the Cowboys selecting Mayer in the first round and addressing other needs like linebacker, offensive guard, defensive tackle, kicker, quarterback, and edge rusher in later rounds.
According to one league source, "I just can't see Dallas passing" on Mayer if he's available when they pick.
The Cowboys also still need to address the running back and cornerback positions which were not addressed in the expert mock drafts.
