Overview
- The Premier League fixture is scheduled for Monday, 12 October at the CBS Arena with kickoff times varying by territory and live coverage on Max (Mexico), USA Network and SiriusXM FC (U.S.), Disney+ Premium (South America) and DAZN/Movistar+ (Spain); referee John Brooks is appointed for the match.
- Coventry sit 19th with three points after five games and come into the match off a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest but still carry a poor home record at the CBS Arena.
- Newcastle sit midtable on eight points and arrive having beaten Hull 2-1, though their early season has been mixed and they hold a dominant historical record over Coventry in 52 meetings.
- Probable lineups and injury lists published before the game name several absences for both sides, including Coventry players out with muscle and knee problems and Taiwo Awoniyi unavailable through suspension.
- A positive result for Coventry would relieve immediate pressure and help keep them close to the pack, while a Newcastle win would strengthen their push toward a more comfortable midtable position and set the tone for tougher upcoming fixtures.
