Court Upholds Labor Fine Against Former ADOR Chief Min Hee-jin

Min has lodged an objection seeking a formal trial to contest the ruling.

Overview

  • Seoul Western District Court’s 61st Summary Trial Division, presided by Judge Jeong Cheol-min, dismissed Min’s challenge on Oct. 16, leaving the penalty in effect.
  • The Labor Ministry’s Seoul Western District Office had found Min committed workplace bullying and failed to conduct an immediate, objective investigation under labor law.
  • The case began with a complaint from a former ADOR employee alleging harassment by an associate of Min and claiming Min tried to cover it up and verbally abused the employee.
  • Min denies the allegations and, according to TenAsia, filed an appeal on Oct. 17 as her legal team signals a push for a full trial to dispute legal interpretation and facts.
  • The exact fine amount has not been disclosed; under Korea’s Labor Standards Act, such violations can draw up to 10 million won for bullying and up to 5 million won for investigation failures.
