Overview
- Prosecutors say Walid Saadaoui and Amar Hussein planned to obtain firearms and carry out attacks between December 13, 2023 and May 9, 2024, which both deny.
- The court heard recordings in which Saadaoui allegedly said they were suicidal and had pledged to die, and that they were going to kill a lot of Jewish people.
- Police recovered two assault rifles, a semi-automatic pistol and nearly 200 rounds from a car at The Last Drop Hotel in Bolton, where Saadaoui was arrested at 7.17pm on May 8, 2024.
- Surveillance presented to jurors described a Dover trip on May 7–8, including binocular surveillance from the White Cliffs car park as an undercover officer drove in from France.
- The defence argues Saadaoui was under pressure and intended to sabotage the plan and alert police, while Saadaoui’s brother Bilel denies a separate charge of failing to disclose acts of terrorism.
