Overview
- During speed checks on January 4, Essex Police recorded a Lamborghini Urus travelling at 140 mph on the A120 near Stansted Airport.
- Officers seized the vehicle under anti-social driving legislation after identifying illegal front-window tinting during the traffic stop.
- At Basildon Magistrates’ Court, 60-year-old Fred McKennon of Colchester received a 56-day driving ban, three penalty points and was fined almost £1,700.
- The front-window tint fell below the 30% light-transmission measured, breaching standards that require at least 75% for windscreens and 70% for front side windows.
- PC Matthew Mehen warned that extreme speeds dramatically reduce reaction time and braking distances and pledged continued firm action against dangerous driving.
