Overview

  • Tribunal Oral Federal N°2 granted Cristina Kirchner’s appeal to the Federal Casación court to review the AR$684.99 billion decomiso without suspending the ongoing execution of assets.
  • Judges rejected nullity requests against the CPI-indexed forfeiture calculation and moved the defense’s objections to prosecutors Diego Luciani and Sergio Mola for a competence opinion.
  • Tribunal Oral Federal N°4 has already seized €3 million from a Bahamas account and $1 million from a Swiss bank and ordered auctions of 56 properties linked to Lázaro Báez.
  • Cámara Federal de Casación’s Sala IV, led by judges Mariano Borinsky, Diego Barroetaveña and Gustavo Hornos, is expected to convene hearings for Kirchner’s lawyers to contest the decomiso method.
  • The appellate review will also assess whether assets Cristina Kirchner transferred to her children as advance inheritance in 2016 must be included in the forfeiture.
