Country Star Chris Young Arrested in Nashville

Surveillance Footage Contradicts Officer's Account of Incident, Lawyer Calls for Charges to be Dropped

Country music star Chris Young was arrested on Monday, January 22, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee, and charged with disorderly conduct, assaulting an officer, and resisting arrest.
The arrest occurred after Young allegedly struck a Tennessee Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) officer during a compliance check at a bar. Young and his friends had reportedly followed the officers from one bar to another.
Surveillance footage from the bar where the arrest took place appears to contradict the officer's account of the incident. The video shows Young reaching out to an officer, who then shoves Young, causing him to fall over a table and chairs.
Young's attorney, Bill Ramsey, has called for the charges to be dropped and for an apology to be issued, stating that Young should not have been arrested and charged in the first place.
Young, who has had multiple No. 1 hits in the country music genre, is due to appear in court on February 16, 2024.
