Councils Set Festive Bin-Collection Changes for BCP, Dumfries & Galloway and Oxford

Updated schedules include early set-out advice, reduced recycling-centre hours, business service pauses.

Overview

  • BCP Council published a full revised timetable that shifts many collections into late December and mid-January, with no pickups on December 25, December 26, or January 1 and a 5am set-out request with no side waste accepted.
  • BCP recycling centres will open 9am–4pm with early closures on December 24 and December 31 and full closures on December 25, December 26, and January 1, while commercial collections pause on December 25 and January 1 with catch-ups on December 26, December 27, and January 3 and weighbridges closed until January 5.
  • Dumfries and Galloway will not collect on December 25–26 and January 1–2, with Thursday routes moved to Saturday December 27 and Saturday January 3 and Friday routes to Sunday December 28 and Sunday January 4 for grey bins only, and the council says 80% of households are unaffected.
  • Dumfries and Galloway is offering free extra recycling capacity, allows additional recycling beside blue or red‑lidded bins, and is taking recycling centre bookings while core social services continue.
  • Oxford City Council set date swaps for December 25 to December 27, December 26 to December 29, January 1 to January 2, and January 2 to January 3, with garden waste, bulky waste, and bin deliveries paused December 23 to January 2 and real tree collections running on green/brown bin days January 13 to February 13.
