Overview
- Councils across the UK published Easter collection plans this week, with many keeping normal service on Good Friday, April 3, and Easter Monday, April 6, and advising people to put bins out early.
- Buckinghamshire moved Good Friday rounds to Saturday and paused Easter Monday collections, pushed the week’s pickups back by one day, and opened all tips on longer summer hours with bins due out by 6.30am.
- Carmarthenshire shifted collections a day earlier in the week before Easter and a day later in the week after, covering household, hygiene and garden waste with a 6am set-out time.
- Wrexham cancelled collections on the two bank holidays and set make-up days, letting households leave extra recycling on their next scheduled pick-up.
- Elsewhere, several areas confirmed no change to service, including Herefordshire and the Isle of Wight, while recycling centres in places such as Warwickshire switched to longer summer hours and some sites will close on the two bank holidays.
