Costco Recalls Over 10,000 Cases of Eggs Due to Salmonella Risk

Handsome Brook Farms recalled Kirkland Signature organic eggs after discovering a packaging error that could lead to contamination.

The recall affects 10,800 cases of Kirkland Signature Organic Pasture-Raised 24-count eggs, distributed to Costco stores in five Southern states.
The eggs, with a use-by date of January 5, 2025, were not intended for retail sale but were mistakenly packaged for retail distribution.
No illnesses have been reported, but customers are advised to return the eggs to Costco for a refund or dispose of them immediately.
Salmonella infection can cause symptoms like diarrhea, fever, and stomach cramps, with higher risks for young children, elderly adults, and those with weakened immune systems.
Handsome Brook Farms is implementing additional supply chain controls and retraining to prevent similar errors in the future.
