Costco Recalls 10,800 Organic Egg Cartons Over Salmonella Risk

The recall affects Kirkland Signature eggs distributed to 25 stores in five southern states, with no illnesses reported so far.

The recall involves 24-count cartons of organic, pasture-raised eggs sold under Costco's Kirkland Signature brand in Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
Handsome Brook Farms initiated the recall after eggs not intended for retail sale were mistakenly packaged and distributed starting November 22, 2024.
Consumers are advised to check for cartons with Julian code 327, UPC 9661910680, and a 'Use By' date of January 5, 2025, printed on the side of the packaging.
No illnesses linked to the eggs have been reported, but salmonella infections can cause severe symptoms, particularly in vulnerable populations.
Shoppers should return the recalled eggs to Costco for a full refund or dispose of them, as additional safety measures are implemented by the supplier.
