Cosmos Launches 17-Firm Partner Network for Bank Tokenization

Aimed at cutting banks' multi-vendor costs, the network must still show completed integrations and named bank pilots to prove production readiness.

Overview

  • Cosmos launched the Partner Network on Sept. 9, 2026, naming 17 founding firms that include BitGo, Galaxy Digital, OpenZeppelin, Blockdaemon and Blockchain.com.
  • Cosmos will supply its Tokenization Suite and ledger technology while partners provide custody, KYC/KYB, compliance tooling, node infrastructure and settlement services.
  • BitGo is listed as the network's institutional custody and settlement provider and may supply wallets, regulated custody, trading and stablecoin infrastructure for bank projects.
  • The announcement did not identify any bank customers, live production deployments, deposited value, integration certification or a role for the ATOM token, so commercial adoption remains unproven.
  • If banks adopt the stack it could speed tokenized deposits and 24/7 settlement, but deployments must resolve custody rules, redemption rights, KYC controls and security risks highlighted by recent Cosmos EVM incidents.
