Overview
- Corrientes votes on Aug. 31 to choose governor and vice governor, renew part of its legislature, and elect municipal authorities in 73 localities.
- Seven gubernatorial tickets are on the ballot, including Juan Pablo Valdés (Vamos Corrientes), Martín Ascúa (Limpiar Corrientes), Ricardo Colombi (ECO) and Lisandro Almirón (La Libertad Avanza).
- Provincial law requires 45% to win outright, or more than 40% with a 10‑point lead; otherwise a runoff would be held on Oct. 26 alongside the national elections, and late polling points to that possibility.
- Electoral authorities report 950,576 eligible voters and 2,808 polling tables across the province, and the definitive register can be checked online with DNI through the Junta Electoral.
- In the desdobled calendar, Buenos Aires votes for half its provincial legislature on Sept. 7 with traditional party ballots, while the Boleta Única de Papel will be used for the national midterms on Oct. 26.
