• Andrew Porter and Ian Stasko, both 25, were found Sept. 18 about two miles from the Rio De Los Pinos trailhead in Conejos County after a multi-day search.
• Conejos County Coroner Richard Martin said the men were killed by lightning and likely were not directly struck, noting no significant external injuries.
• Authorities reported no signs of foul play, consistent with an incident linked to fast-moving storms in the high-elevation South San Juan Wilderness.
