Corinthians Seeks Exit From Hypera Naming Deal for Caixa Naming-Rights Takeover

The club is pursuing a Caixa partnership to use the stadium’s commercial name as part of a plan to help pay down its roughly R$630 million arena debt.

Overview

  • Corinthians and Caixa signed a confidentiality agreement on Friday, Oct. 16, and Caixa subsequently released R$13.5 million to the club to provide short-term cash relief.
  • The club has opened talks with Hypera to end the Neo Química Arena naming-rights contract but the parties disagree on the termination fee.
  • Corinthians says the 2026 contractual rescission amount is R$47.85 million while Hypera argues the fee must be updated by the IGP-M inflation index to about R$68 million.
  • Corinthians values the naming-rights at about R$70 million per season and has offered Caixa a package that could include the naming-rights transfer, migration of the club’s banking operations and fan financial products.
  • Club leaders are seeking amicable alternatives to limit immediate cash payments, such as a new sponsorship deal or assigning naming rights for other assets, and no final agreement has yet been reached.
