Core Devices Opens Pre-Orders for New PebbleOS Smartwatches

Eric Migicovsky's Core Devices revives the Pebble smartwatch legacy with the Core 2 Duo and Core Time 2, emphasizing simplicity, long battery life, and hackability.

The Core 2 Duo, priced at $149, features a 1.26-inch monochrome e-paper display and a 30-day battery life, with shipments starting in July 2025.
The Core Time 2, priced at $225, includes a 1.5-inch 64-color e-paper touchscreen, a heart rate monitor, and a metal frame, with shipments planned for December 2025.
Both models run on the open-source PebbleOS and support over 10,000 apps and watch faces from the original Pebble ecosystem.
The watches are compatible with Android and iOS, though Apple’s restrictions limit functionality for iPhone users.
Core Devices is taking a cautious approach with limited production runs of approximately 10,000 units for each model.
