Coquitlam Express Goalie Coach Charged In Historical Sex-Offence Case

Police have released the Surrey man on conditions that restrict contact with minors.

Overview

  • New Westminster police charged Ronald Veit, 58, with sexual interference, sexual exploitation and sexual assault linked to incidents from 2008 to 2012.
  • The Coquitlam Express said it immediately terminated Veit’s employment, noting the allegations predate his tenure and did not appear on required criminal record checks.
  • Release conditions prohibit him from communicating with anyone under 18 unless a parent or guardian is present and from attending parks, community centres, schools or playgrounds.
  • He is permitted to be at skating rinks and may coach only when other adults are present.
  • Police say the alleged offences occurred across Langley, Surrey, New Westminster, Coquitlam and Burnaby, and they are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.
