Overview

  • Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners assumed full ownership of the Beehive BESS from EDF power solutions North America through its CI V fund.
  • The 250 MW/4-hour (1 000 MWh) facility in Peoria, Arizona, is designed to charge on excess renewable energy and discharge during peak demand to support grid reliability.
  • Construction, initiated by EDF earlier this year, will now be overseen by CIP as it prepares the asset for commercial operation in early 2026.
  • A 20-year tolling contract with Arizona Public Service secures long-term revenue certainty and ties the system to APS’s capacity requirements.
  • CI V closed in March 2025 after exceeding its US$14 billion target and underpins CIP’s expansion of North American energy infrastructure investments.
