Overview
- Air traffic at Copenhagen Airport was suspended from about 20:26–20:30 local time on Monday after drones were observed near the field, with operations resuming Tuesday morning.
- Police reported sightings of between two and four large drones around the airport, and authorities have not determined whether they were military or civilian.
- Dozens of inbound flights were diverted to other airports, including Billund, Malmö, Aarhus and Gothenburg, and the airport warned of further delays and cancellations.
- Copenhagen police said the drones disappeared and none have been recovered, and a strong police presence was maintained during the closure.
- Danish and Norwegian authorities plan to coordinate after a separate drone report prompted a roughly four-hour shutdown at Oslo’s main airport, which has also reopened.
