Coordinated Swatting Spree Targets U.S. Jewish Institutions

Nearly 200 Jewish institutions across the United States were targeted by a coordinated spree of swatting incidents and false bomb threats last week.
The threats, which involved similar language and specific email tradecraft, are believed to be connected and originating from outside the United States, according to a confidential FBI memo.
Over 30 of the FBI's 56 field offices are investigating the threats, which violated multiple federal laws.
The Secure Community Network, a non-profit advising U.S. Jewish institutions on safety and security, tracked 199 threats to Jewish institutions in a single day, with the majority reported in California and Arizona.
Swatting incidents and false bomb threats have increased by over 540% from 2022, with a record 772 incidents logged in October and November.
