Overview
- The IMD projects clear, dry conditions through December 20 with daytime highs around 33–35°C and cooler nights near 17–21°C, and no weather warnings.
- Citywide air quality showed wide swings: reports on December 15 cited overall readings of 188 (poor) and 125, and government data on December 16 put the AQI at 111 (moderate).
- Several locations recorded hazardous to very high values, including Wadala Truck Terminal at 345, Goregaon at 277, Chembur at 267, Vashi at 263 and Colaba at 237.
- Some suburbs fared better with moderate readings such as Charkop at 65, Kandivali East at 82 and Govandi at 93, while Malad West and Jogeshwari East were at 127 in the poor category.
- Morning haze reduced visibility and posed health risks, particularly for children, older adults and people with respiratory conditions.
