Overview
- The 26th frozen seafood fair runs 7–9 October at IFEVI with 797 exhibitors from 46 countries and an expanded buyers program growing from 13 to 29 countries and from 35 to 50 invited buyers.
- Authorities activated a traffic plan around IFEVI and Peinador that closes AP-9 entry 157, limits exit 157 for vehicles over 3,500 kg, reverses flow on Avenida del Tranvía, and offers more than 1,400 free parking spaces.
- Officials expect roughly 35,000 attendees, with traffic measures operating from about 7:30 to 14:00 daily and adjustments as conditions allow.
- Conxemar president Eloy García renewed calls to enlarge the venue, estimating losses of about €20 million for every 6,000 m² of unmet demand, as the Xunta backed the project and Vigo’s mayor said Zona Franca is ready to fund it pending approvals.
- At the opening, minister Luis Planas and Galicia’s Marta Villaverde vowed to challenge a proposed two‑thirds cut to EU fisheries funds, calling the current plan insufficient for the sector.
