Overview

  • In February, students Denoora Lyu and William Qu returned from holiday to find 30-year-old Dylan Yelkovan living uninvited in their Pyrmont apartment.
  • Yelkovan had rummaged through their belongings, worn their clothes, used William Qu’s bank card and left their home in disarray, costing the couple $2,000 in hotel and cleaning fees.
  • NSW Police arrested him on five charges including break and enter and deception, and court records show he pleaded guilty at the Sydney Downing Centre in April.
  • He was sentenced to nine months’ imprisonment served as an Intensive Correction Order with strict supervision and a ban on returning to the Pyrmont address.
  • Lyu’s May sighting of Yelkovan in Sydney’s CBD has fuelled concerns that he may have breached the terms of his community-based sentence.
