Overview
- Staff conducting the 10 p.m. count on July 5 at the Archambault Institution’s minimum-security unit discovered that Lori Bill Germa was missing.
- Germa is serving an indeterminate sentence for first-degree murder and is described as 178 cm tall, fair-complexioned, with no hair, multiple arm tattoos and a scar on his left leg.
- This is the second inmate breach at the facility in under two weeks after Richard Plourde escaped on June 22 and was recaptured the following day.
- Correctional Service Canada obtained an arrest warrant for Germa’s arrest and has asked the public to report any information to the Sûreté du Québec.
- CSC has launched a formal investigation into the circumstances of the escape and is reviewing minimum-security protocols for vulnerabilities.
