Convicted Murderer Assaults Attorney, Sentenced to Death

Joseph Zieler elbowed his attorney in the face in a Florida courtroom before being sentenced to death for murders 30 years ago.
Zieler was found guilty of killing 11-year-old Robin Cornell and her 32-year-old babysitter Lisa Story in 1990.
Zieler had a history of outbursts during trial and claimed innocence but DNA evidence linked him to the crimes.
A jury recommended death 10-2 and the judge followed the recommendation, sentencing Zieler to death.
The victims were sexually assaulted, beaten and suffocated; Cornell's mother called Zieler a "pig" during trial.
