Convicted Felon Charged After Toddler's Accidental Shooting Death in Michigan

A 2-year-old boy in Michigan died after accidentally discharging a gun in a car at a gas station, with the weapon allegedly belonging to Avis Damone Coward, a convicted felon.
Coward is now charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, following the incident on October 24.
The child's mother was in the car with the boy when the gun went off, moments after Coward had left the vehicle to go into the gas station.
Surveillance footage showed Coward returning to the car and placing the gun back inside after the shooting.
The vehicle was later found burned in a field, and the gun's barrel was discovered hidden in wall insulation in a Lansing home.
