Sen. Marco Rubio has urged USA Boxing to reverse its decision to allow transgender female athletes to compete against women in the ring.
The policy allows a fighter who transitioned from male to female to compete in the female category under several conditions, including hormone testing and gender reassignment surgery.

Former female boxer Christy Martin has also criticized the policy, warning that it could lead to serious injuries and potentially deter new female boxers from entering the field.
