Controversial Saints Row Reboot Now Free on Epic Games Store
Offer comes months after closure of developer Volition, with improvements made to the game following its initial flop.
- The 2022 reboot of Saints Row is currently available for free on the Epic Games Store, following the closure of its developer, Volition, in August.
- The game, which was contentious from its reveal and considered a major flop, led to the closure of Volition after 30 years in the video game industry.
- Despite its initial reception, Volition worked hard to improve the game over the following year, adding AMD FSR 2.1 support on PC, three expansions, two free districts, a combat overhaul, and other quality-of-life features.
- The game is available for free until 4pm GMT on December 31st, as part of the Epic Games Store's daily holiday freebies.
- Despite the free offer, the game's expansions are not included and must be paid for separately, although they are currently 50% off due to the holiday sale.
