Disney initially owned the rights to the film but shelved it after acquiring 20th Century Fox. The filmmakers then bought back the rights and the film was distributed by Angel Studios.
Jim Caviezel, who plays the role of Tim Ballard, the founder of OUR, has publicly endorsed QAnon ideas and has been accused of promoting conspiracy theories related to child trafficking.
There is speculation about a sequel to the film, potentially focusing on OUR's efforts in Haiti, although no official confirmation has been made.
