Overview
- Fire crews reported that overnight operations stabilized the east and north flanks but numerous hotspots remain and four sectors are still active on the south and west fronts.
- More than 800 people from fourteen localities have been evacuated to shelters including Polideportivo Bermillo, Pabellón Fermoselle, Neurocare Zamora and Residencia 3 Árboles.
- Authorities have ordered confinement for the towns of Fermoselle and Fariza and closed regional roads such as the CL-527 and provincial ZA-P routes to protect residents and responders.
- Officials said bad short-term weather forecasts and long wind gusts are the main barriers to faster containment and do not expect the fire to be fully controlled today.
- Spain’s summer fire pattern makes wind the key factor in suppression, so the next 24–48 hours of weather and containment reports will determine whether evacuations and road closures are lifted or extended.
