Consum Revives Original Alaquàs Store as Network Surpasses 1,000 Outlets

The move follows the integration of 193 former Kuups staff, with the Amposta branch scheduled to open after summer.

Overview

  • The flagship ’número 1’ supermarket at avenida Blasco Ibáñez 19 has reopened after a full renovation, featuring a 700 m² sales floor and a display of historical photos and documents from the 1980s.
  • Consum also relaunched the former Economy Cash site in Gandía at calle Perú 16, marking the eighth of nine supermarkets acquired from Kuups.
  • All 193 employees from the acquired centers have joined Consum’s workforce, contributing to last year’s creation of 653 new jobs and a total staff of 21,869.
  • With eight of the nine former Kuups stores back in operation, the final location in Amposta will begin serving customers after the summer break.
  • The cooperative has laid out plans for 18 additional openings across Valencia, Catalonia, Murcia and Andalusia throughout 2025 to deepen regional coverage.
