• The Andhra Pradesh government transferred the 52.2-acre Mudasarlova site to Indian Railways in August 2024.
• The foundation stone for the South Coast Railway zone headquarters was laid earlier this year, marking the official start of the project.
• A General Manager has been appointed to oversee the development and operations of the new zone headquarters.
• Once complete, the headquarters will serve the Guntakal, Guntur, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam divisions, strengthening freight routes between mineral regions and eastern coast ports.
