Construction Set to Begin on Delhi’s First International Ice Skating Rink in Dwarka

Site handover under a 15-year licensing model with international partners clears the way for imminent construction.

Overview

  • Spanning 4,200 sq m with a 60 × 30 m ice surface, the rink will meet international specifications for training and competitions.
  • The facility will host ice skating, ice hockey, figure skating and curling for both athletes and recreational visitors.
  • It is located within the cloverleaf of the Dwarka Sports Complex near the Dwarka Expressway and IGI Airport tunnel for easy access.
  • A DDA-selected agency will develop and operate the venue through a joint venture or special purpose vehicle with global collaborators.
  • The project advances Lt Governor VK Saxena’s drive to expand Delhi’s sports infrastructure and indoor recreation, complementing plans for hot air balloon rides.
