Overview
- Construction crews have reached the midpoint of the six-lane, 204-foot-wide Greenland wildlife overpass on I-25.
- The overpass will span six lanes of traffic near the Greenland Interchange, connecting 39,000 acres of habitat for elk, mule deer and pronghorn.
- The $15 million project, funded by the bipartisan infrastructure bill, is overseen by CDOT with support from FHWA, Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Douglas County.
- Following two recent wildlife-related fatalities, the Colorado State Patrol has launched an intensified summer outreach to warn motorists about animal collisions.
- By completing a four-mile gap in the I-25 South Gap system, the overpass is on track for December completion and expected to reduce wildlife-vehicle crashes by 90 percent.
