Construction Begins on A100 Ringbahn Bridge Replacement at Berlin’s Funkturm

Fast-tracked work follows an emergency demolition triggered by a spreading structural crack.

Overview

  • Deges and the Autobahn-Gesellschaft broke ground on the roughly €80 million replacement, targeting completion by summer 2027.
  • From October 30 at 22:00 to November 3 at 05:00, the junction will see extensive closures to demolish the A100 bridge over Halenseestraße Ost, with truck detours via SchmargendorfSpandauer Damm and via Königin‑Elisabeth‑Straße.
  • The project adds a new crossing over Halenseestraße Ost and introduces continuous noise-protection walls on the side facing nearby residences.
  • Parallel rebuilding of the nearby Westendbrücke is planned, with the A100 northbound section between Messedamm and Spandauer Damm expected to reopen in summer 2027.
  • Traffic continues on a contraflow through the work zone and heavy goods vehicles are routed through residential areas until the new infrastructure is in place.
