Overview
- Constitution Hill was officially declared to run in the Group 3 William Hill September Stakes at Kempton with Billy Loughnane booked to ride and six rivals confirmed.
- Bookmakers, including race sponsor William Hill, reported sharp ante‑post and on‑course support that has more than halved his odds and created substantial liabilities that could reach six figures if backing continues.
- Trainer Nicky Henderson has been candid that the race represents a marked step up in class against proven Group horses and says the performance will tell the team where the horse belongs on the Flat.
- A top‑three finish has been linked by connections to keeping open a path to the Melbourne Cup and to qualifying for bigger handicaps that require three Flat runs.
- Constitution Hill is a nine‑year‑old former Champion Hurdle who is unbeaten in two novice all‑weather Flat starts but carries a 101 official Flat rating that leaves him well below several rivals on the figures.
