• On June 8, the 24-year-old singer’s Chevrolet Silverado struck Dorothy Dobbins as she crossed in a marked crosswalk near 3rd Avenue North in Nashville.
• The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department reported that Smith showed no signs of impairment and did not yield the right of way.
• Dobbins was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.
