Connecticut Couple Charged in $1 Million Lululemon Theft Scheme

The pair allegedly stole merchandise from stores in five states using organized retail crime tactics over a two-month period.

Jadion Richards, 44, and Akwele Lawes-Richards, 45, were arrested in Minnesota on November 14 and charged with felony organized retail theft.
Authorities allege the couple stole nearly $1 million worth of Lululemon merchandise from stores in Minnesota, Colorado, Utah, New York, and Connecticut since September 2024.
Police discovered 12 suitcases containing $50,000 in Lululemon products in a hotel room linked to the couple in Bloomington, Minnesota.
The alleged scheme involved distraction tactics, fraudulent returns, and removing security tags to steal and conceal high-value items.
Both suspects have been released on bail and are scheduled to appear in court on December 16, facing potential sentences of up to 15 years if convicted.
