Overview

• Sonia Gandhi led the inauguration at Indira Bhawan with Gursharan Kaur, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and senior leaders in attendance.
• The library opens with about 1,200 books, featuring sections on Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, Indira Gandhi and other leaders, plus titles on figures from other parties including Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
• Core holdings include multiple volumes of The Encyclopedia of the Indian National Congress compiled by Abdul Moin Zaidi and Shahida Gufran Zaidi, party manifestoes from every general election since 1951–52, and a gallery of historic photographs.
• Displays span a Constituent Assembly portrait, images of Nehru with V. K. Krishna Menon, early party founders in one frame, and a 1991 photograph of Manmohan Singh in his finance minister’s office.
• Rahul Gandhi called the centre a tribute to Singh’s legacy that will guide future generations, while the party noted this is its first formal library at its new headquarters.
