Congress of Michoacán Relaunches Inclusive Youth Parliament and Appoints Selection Jury

Youth across all fields can submit original, viable proposals through September 19 supported by free legislative training

  • The Congreso del Estado reopened the public call for the Parlamento Juvenil Incluyente 2025 on August 8–9 after a five-year pause.
  • Deputy Ana Belinda Hurtado Marín will chair a multidisciplinary jury that includes representatives from CECUFID, the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo, the Electoral Institute of Michoacán and other legislative, human rights and youth bodies.
  • Applicants aged 18–29 from any discipline must highlight originality and feasibility in legislative or social project proposals for consideration.
  • The Institute of Investigaciones y Estudios Legislativos is offering free courses on legislative technique and advisory services to bolster submissions ahead of the September 19 deadline.
  • Forty selected participants will simulate committee work and plenary debates on October 30–31, with the possibility of their proposals being advanced as formal legislative initiatives.
