Congress Names Four Candidates for Karnataka Council Graduates' and Teachers' Seats

The party moved early to set its slate for November 2026 contests chosen by specialized electorates.

Overview

The AICC nominated Mohan Limbikai (West Graduates'), Shashi Hulikuntemutt (South-East Graduates'), Sharanappa Mattur (North-East Teachers') and Puttanna (Bengaluru Teachers').
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge approved the names, according to a release issued by AICC general secretary K C Venugopal.
Voting for these Graduates' and Teachers' constituencies is scheduled for November 2026.
Three of the four seats are currently held by the BJP, while Puttanna holds the Bengaluru Teachers' seat for Congress.
The BJP has not yet announced its candidates for these constituencies.
