Congress MP Rakibul Hussain Attacked by Mob in Assam's Nagaon District

The police have identified suspects in the assault, as security is increased for the MP following the incident.

Congress MP Rakibul Hussain and his personal security officers were attacked by a mob while traveling to a public meeting in Nagaon district, Assam.
The attackers, who had their faces covered, used cricket bats and shouted slogans against the MP during the assault.
Hussain was unharmed, but two of his personal security officers sustained minor injuries; police fired blank rounds to disperse the crowd.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the police have identified 10 individuals involved in the attack and will take legal action.
The Congress party condemned the incident, blaming the state government for failing to ensure Hussain's safety and demanding immediate arrests of the attackers.
