Congress MP Rakesh Rathore Arrested on Rape Charges in Uttar Pradesh

The Allahabad High Court and a Sitapur MP/MLA court both denied Rathore's anticipatory bail plea, with the High Court directing him to surrender within two weeks.
Rathore was apprehended at his residence while addressing a press conference to clarify his position on the allegations after evading police for two weeks.
The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president has called for a judicial inquiry into the allegations, while further legal proceedings are ongoing.
