Overview

  • Tepuxtepec dam reached 99.58% capacity before Generadora Fénix was ordered to open its spillway and begin controlled releases.
  • Cointzio dam, at 98.65% storage, saw local Conagua teams and the DR-020 Morelia-Queréndaro office start early releases today.
  • State and municipal civil protection agencies, OOAPAS, Maravatío authorities and downstream irrigation users have been alerted and are monitoring flows.
  • Conagua listed Morelia neighborhoods—such as La Industrial, Prados Verdes, Tres Puentes, Primo Tapia, Carlos Salazar and Sentimientos de la Nación—as most vulnerable to elevated downstream waters.
  • The operations adhere to policies approved by the Comité Técnico de Operación de Obras Hidráulicas that govern the country’s 210 main reservoirs.
