- A fast-moving storm on Friday cut electricity to nearly 21,000 Con Edison customers across Staten Island and Brooklyn.
- By Saturday morning, crews had restored service to more than 19,700 homes and businesses.
- Staten Island experienced over 17,800 outages with about 255 customers still offline this morning; Brooklyn saw roughly 2,800 outages and around 600 remain awaiting reconnection.
- The hardest-hit areas included eastern Staten Island from St. George to Bay Terrace and Brooklyn neighborhoods such as Midwood, Kensington and Marine Park.
- Con Edison warned residents to stay clear of downed wires, which may be live, and encouraged them to report outages via text alerts, the mobile app or the 1-800-75-CONED hotline.
