Community Volunteers Find Missing Alice Springs Man Alive Near Jay Creek

Following the suspension of a five-day multi-agency search, community volunteers located Gach Top near Jay Creek outstation.

  • On the evening of August 4, searchers found Gach Top alive near Jay Creek outstation, about 30 kilometres west of Alice Springs, where he had endured freezing overnight temperatures in rugged terrain.
  • He was transported to Alice Springs Hospital for medical assessment, with police confirming they no longer hold concerns for his welfare.
