Overview
- At New York Comic Con on Oct. 9, co-creators Joe Bennett and Steve Hely announced that season two will premiere Sunday, Jan. 24, 2027 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT on Adult Swim with episodes available to stream the next day on HBO Max.
- The season continues Marshall’s story as he and Frances remain fugitives trying to share the Blue Angel mushroom while avoiding federal and corporate forces.
- Creators confirmed a new villain named Thomas, voiced by Bob Stephenson, who becomes religiously obsessed with the mushroom and will drive much of the season’s conflict.
- Season two will weave an ongoing shared-hallucination thread that runs alongside the show’s ‘reality’ scenes and expands the Portal World to allow for more ambitious animation and storytelling.
- The series returns with strong industry backing and expectations after season one won a Peabody and four Annie Awards and drew Emmy and Independent Spirit nominations, with Mike Judge and Greg Daniels among the executive producers and production by Bandera and Green Street Pictures.
