Overview
- Commodore announced Monday that the Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection will release on September 24 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, with a Nintendo Switch version to follow later in the year.
- The digital bundle brings together all six original Amiga-era Alien Breed games from 1991–1996 and offers faithful restorations of each title for modern systems.
- Every game includes specific modern upgrades such as dual-stick control mapping, instant save states, retro-visual filters, rumble feedback, and peer-to-peer online co-op in supported entries.
- The release adds new play modes — Rush Mode for competitive cooperative play and a solo or team Horde Mode survival challenge — and includes an in-universe digital archive of developer interviews and original materials.
- Commodore developed the collection with retro-preservation studio Antstream and in cooperation with Team17, and it is a download-to-own product that does not require Antstream’s streaming platform or a constant internet connection; the company frames the set as a test case for future publishing and preservation work.
